The Vampire Guard Book Two
The members of the Vampire Guard--Jonas Forge, spy and soldier turned cop; computer hacker extraordinaire Blair Turner; Declan, thief, con man, and ex-pirate; and medical examiner and werewolf Dr. Lucas Coate--face a dangerous and elusive enemy.
And this time, it's personal.
Over the course of three hundred years, a man has touched each of their lives in ways they are only just realizing. When a hunt for a psychotic killer in the present resurrects memories and clues from the past, they discover how they have been affected and are bound by the existence of a ruthless vampire criminal. Now, while preventing a heist at a high-tech art show and thwarting several large-scale explosions, the team must employ their unique blend of science and supernatural abilities to put an end to the machinations of the man toying with their lives.
This time, he won't slip through their fingers.
This time, it's more than a case. It's a hunt, and Forge, Blair, Declan, and Lucas won't stop until they've captured their quarry.

This is the second book in The Vampire Guard series. It is series where vampires, werewolves not only exist but co-exist among humans. This particular group is working to try to figure out the reason for the explosion that imploded a building that was in the final stages of construction. They also need to figure out how and why all electronic devices stopped working in the area during the time of the implosion. I did not read the first book in this series nor did I read the original series that this series is a spin-off of. That didn’t seem to matter because although this is part of a series, each book reads as a stand alone. I enjoyed the intense action and high drama story. There is true soul mate chemistry as well and strong friendships that have formed with this close-knit group. The pacing is fast, explosive, with many twists and connections to the past events that started centuries ago. The ending was equally exciting full of high action. The best part of this book are the individual characters and the bonds that they have with one another. There is strong character development where we learn how they became the creatures that they are and how events in their pasts played a strong part in bringing them together.

Quarry Vampire Guard Elizabeth Noble Books Reviews
We are once again back with the Vampire Guard in Elizabeth Noble's Quarry. This is book two in her Vampire Guard series.
This book had a lot of twists and turns that really kept the story hopping. Of course, entwined with all of that are the four guys Forge, Declan, Blair, and Lucas. They really are a great ensemble. I was really happy we got more background on these guys. As we see how then all connet with each other we, as a reader, build a better relationship with them.
This book really focuses on the story and mystery. It's not a sex filled book at all. We generally see vampire and werewolf and assume rough alpha sex! But not here. It didn't take away from anything though.
I liked Quarry better than book one and I really think it was due to the fact the author really gave us more depth to the characters with the back story. I think you could read this book as a standalone but you'd be missing out. You really should read book one Code Name Jack Rabbit. I know there's another series where we first see these guys but I never read it so I don't know how pertinent it is to this. I would tell you that me reading this one and book one of this series found it to be plenty as we got into the thick of it with these guys.

This was a great continuance of the Vampire Guard series. These four characters are wonderful for each other; they can play off the others’ strengths wonderfully. This book kept moving with another twist just around the corner to keep the reader’s interest.
In this story we see even more of the characters’ backgrounds and how they are connected. I love how connected all of the friends are and not just the soul mates when disasters happen and when they are just laid back. They are all surprised by the additional connections they find to each other while working on this case.
I loved seeing them play off each other’s strengths to solve the mystery and catch the bad guy. Being able to see the thoughts and emotions of the four main characters goes a long way to understand what is going on in the story and to stay connected with the many characters. I will commend this author, she does a wonderful job with her writing of keeping the characters separated that I don’t get confused and have to check back on which character I am focusing on at the time as I often to in other books. I am loving this series and can’t wait to read more when they come out.
Cover art by TL Bland is great and is following the basic pattern for the series.
Independent reviewer for Divine Magazine, I was gifted my copy of this book.
Lucas, Declan, Blair and Forge find themselves chasing a thief who is using technology they haven't seen before. It's not long before they realise that they have met before, ALL of them, and they might not be where they are now if they hadn't. But the vampire needs to be stopped, at all costs.
I enjoyed this one much more than Code Name Jack Rabbit, and for one reason only we get back story here. We get how Lucas ran over Simon and met Forge. We get how Declan met Forge. We get how Blair came in contact with them all. And I LOVED that!! I was missing that in Jack Rabbit, I really was.
This book is also much more active. There is more action, more fighting, more running around chasing the bad guy. More of the Vampire Guard are here too. Two more teams, of four people in each but I can't remember all their names! I'd love to get more about them, though. I'm left wanting to know more about those pairings and how they came about.
I loved the way the vampire thief's history was so closely intertwined with our four's, and really, had it not been for said vampire, they really might never have met.
It is, again, clean. But I really am not complaining. These guys are very private about that and I love them for it. What I did love though, was Forge and Blair getting married. Loved being part of that.
Can't quite stretch to 5 stars, but we have crept up from the 4 for Jack Rabbit to...
4.5 stars
